A winter-long citizen-science project in which people count the birds visiting their feeders and share the counts with researchers.

When is Project FeederWatch 2026–27?
The season runs from 1 November to 30 April every year. The next one is 1 November 2026 – 30 April 2027. Source
How to take part
- Choose a count site — usually the area around your feeders.
- Count the birds you see on two consecutive days.
- Submit your counts through FeederWatch.

- Birds of the United States — the species recorded there
- Identify a Bird — narrow down a bird you are not sure of
- Identify a Bird Sound — for the ones you hear but cannot see
