Christmas Bird Count

A yearly bird census in which volunteers join local count circles and survey the birds in them, building data used in bird conservation.

It is organised by National Audubon Society. Birbs is not involved in running it — the details below are taken from the organiser's own site, which has the final word.

When is Christmas Bird Count 2026–27?

Every year from 14 December to 5 January; each circle counts on one day in that window. The next one is 14 December 2026 – 5 January 2027. Source
